Dean & Karen Andreola founded the Charlotte Mason Research & Supply Co. in 1989 with the finding and republishing of the classic 6 volume Original Homeschooling Series by Charlotte Mason. Later that same year, they began the country’s first home based Charlotte Mason support group designed to introduce, instruct and encourage other homeschoolers with this method.

Since that time they have become the nationally recognized experts in the Charlotte Mason method of education, parenting & homeschooling. This was accomplished through their pioneering research, user friendly interpretation, "living" book recommendations, and original homespun application of the CM method for modern day parents & homeschoolers.

Karen is a regular columnist for Mary Pride’s Practical Homeschooling Magazine, and was sole editor and researcher for her own Parents’ Review Magazine : for Home Training and Culture, for six years. (24 timeless back issues are kept in print by popular demand). Dean & Karen are also featured product reviewers for Christian Book Distributors (CBD) homeschool catalog.*

Together they have also published the homeschooling bestsellers:Simply Grammar: An Illustrated Primer , and A Charlotte Mason Companion: Personal Reflections on the Gentle Art of Leaning. With their sister company (Great Expectations Book Company) they have published: Beautiful Girlhood, Hints on Child Training, Morning Moments, The SAT & College Preparation Course for the Christian Student, and The Write Stuff Adventure, to name a few.

Dean and Karen have conducted seminars, workshops and radio interviews on homeschooling and educational methods that incorporate the humanities, with a Christian world view. Karen shares with warmth and gentle understanding from her twelve years experience teaching and studying the Charlotte Mason way. Karen's MotherCulture™ is also helping mothers find peace and fulfillment in their roles as teachers and homemakers. Dean shares with down-to-earth humor the struggles he had with his public school experiences and how his family has found some liberating victories through homeschooling. Dads also find these messages particularly refreshing.

In the early years, Karen had received and answered hundreds of letters and questions from homeschool moms. When she did not have an answer at hand, she spent hours with original source material and personal application before she would answer. Some of this research is evident in her Parent's Review Magazine, and in her book, A Charlotte Mason Companion. In the years that have followed, readers and subscribers of Karen’s work have created informational web sites, message boards, teaching outlines, home support groups, books, conference talks and a host of other services to assist parents with their decision to homeschool the Charlotte Mason way! Karen is delighted that her work, that began years ago, has taken root in the lives of so many parents and children in this country and around the world.

Dean is a 20-year veteran of the Christian publishing industry. He now works full time with the family business to promote homeschooling and the Charlotte Mason method of education. Karen attended The Boston Conservatory of Music where she majored in classical and modern dance. Dean & Karen have homeschooled their three children for twelve years. The family spent one year in England with Operation Mobilization’s Send the Light (STL) literature ministry. They now make their home in mid-coast Maine.
